from 64 reviewsI have used many plastic and wood frames over the past seven years. Acorn frames with extra heavy waxed foundation have worked the best for me. Bee build comb without issue and the frames are tough. I have used over 500 of the Acorn frames and will continue to do so.
The foundations came exactly as described and are a good quality.
I feel these are the best on the market. The bees take to them right away and I have had great success. Hold up well in the extractor, and I find them easy to move around in the hive.
Using these for years, heavy waxed and bees draw them out quickly!
Their products are great.
The high shipping costs just make it hard to order hobbyist quantities.
Last year I ran a test in my swarm traps. Along with an old brood comb I places two frames of Acorn double waxed with a leading competitive brand. The other brand produced crazy comb not the Acorn. The bees took to the Acorn and built it out considerably faster and more evenly.
...and after all the bees do have a say. These frames were more flexible than I'm used to but the bees use them as well as other frames I've used.
The only way to go . My bees love them .
The bees loved the foundation. I loved that I did not need to assemble the frames.
Great Plastic frames. Good value.
Frames are good quality . Bees drew Frames out quickly
Product is the best quality.
Started with wood and wax frames 3 years ago but they melt and get all wonky, replaced with plastic foundation and still using them.
Preferred solution is using the Acorn all plastic frames, they don't warp and work well. Don't get extra wax on them, wax your own with a 4" trim paint roller and a cheap electric frying pan, roll it on heavy, the bees will love it. Bert
I got the heavy wax, and the bees really gravitate to them.
These frames in my opinion are the best plastic frames on the market. They really take abuse from the daily grind of working honey supers. I give them a 5star rating. Remember when purchasing that the little bit of extra wax they put on the frames do really make the bees draw it out faster and more evenly. Thank you!! Scott
